One of the amazing benefits you can experience from eating fruits and vegetables is that your skin will clear dramatically. Our skin is our largest organ, and literally everything we put on it gets absorbed not only into the skin itself, but even the bloodstream. Many beauty products have chemicals that do far more harm than good to your skin.
Whenever I purchase a natural beauty product, I take a look at the ingredient list. It turned out that I already had many of the ingredients in my kitchen! Then I thought to myself that if eating fruits and veggies has a great positive impact on my skin, putting them ON my skin could be even better for it! Well, I did some deep research online, and came up with some DIY face masks packed with the most beneficial ingredients. Let me tell you, they will leave your skin feeling WONDERFUL! Here are two masks that will help cleanse and detoxify your skin!
1. Detoxifying blueberry yogurt mask
For breakouts or congested skin
Blueberries smooth the skin, prevent fine lines and wrinkles, eliminate scars, increase elasticity, fight against blemishes and acne, balance levels of oil in the skin, and help even out skin tone.
1/2 cup blueberries
2 tbsp coconut yogurt
Handful of raw almonds, chopped
Juice of ½ lemon
Blend all ingredients, spread over face and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse clean.
2. Coconut Turmeric Face Mask
Turmeric has antioxidant properties that help fight free-radical damage and pave the path to flawless skin. It’s also very effective in treating acne, removing scars and reducing wrinkles and dark circles. It has antibacterial property that helps kill P. acnes bacteria, which cause acne.
1 tbsp coconut yogurt
1 tbsp turmeric powder
1 tsp maple syrup
Mix all ingredients, spread over face and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse clean.
Coconut offers antibacterial as well as antioxidant benefits for your skin. It is great for maintaining younger-looking skin, and for fading scars and blemishes.
After using these masks, my face felt soft and looked flawless! They gave me such a beautiful glow and made me feel so fresh. Making your own beauty products at home saves money, and you’ll know exactly what’s in your products. You’ll be avoiding harmful, and sometimes hidden, ingredients. You can buy most of what you’l need to make face and eye masks, lotions and soaps in your local health food store, and the grocery store may even carry some. Can’t wait for you to try these masks! I hope you love them as much as I do!
